Tess
Tess is a somber lonely giant who values reason over emotion and is always looking for the logic in everything. She quietly observes and analyzes the world, gathering data like an astronaut in an alien land. Long ago she lost her confidence and trust in her fellow man, and now lacks the courage or skill to seek out information that would reverse that finding. She constantly tries to impart advice to her only friend Tedman in order to save him from himself, thereby saving herself from total isolation.
Tedman
Tedman is an awkward miniature man who is highly intelligent but has little-to-no common sense. This results in behavior and opinions that defy logic. He is often dragged around by his emotions, and thwarted by his own decisions. He is a headstrong fellow who unconsciously believes that his maleness has qualified him to be the boss, whether he’s good at it or not. He is mystified by his trouble with women and delights in rejecting Tess’s advice- but secretly appreciates that she cares enough to give it. When he’s not angrily convinced that she’s trying to control him, that is.
